Alleen ontmoet samen wil laten zien dat samenwerking in je eigen netwerk meer kansen creëert voor goede ontwikkelingshulp. Samen kunnen we meer betekenen.

Alone meets together

Alleen ontmoet samen – alone meets together – was founded in 2007 in order to offer support to projects in developing countries.

In our opinion cooperation, joining hands with others, is a very powerful and effective way of raising the support needed. Alleen ontmoet samen facilitates this cooperation. The ultimate goal is to create a large network consisting of people and organisations that wish to support meaningful projects in developing countries.
The means of support can vary, from monetary aid, to advice and counsel to hands-on-help at the project itself. The network is a way to bundle our forces, by working together all our efforts can make much more of an impact.

Alone meets together, a person with an idea can plug into a network of people who want to make a difference. It is also the other way around, together meets alone; the network creates an opportunity to meet that one special person you need.

Ever since the early beginnings of Alleen ontmoet samen its concept has shown it has great potential. By introducing people, groups and organisations to each other, their contributions, however small or big, seem to effortlessly merge into one large and well-defined project. Different people have different things to offer, it can be a contributions in the form of a donation, aid in the form of making a website, people writing press-releases, people helping to raise funds, and so on.

It is wonderful to see how everyone, in their own way, by their own means of effort, can make a difference, where ever in the world. Each day the network grows.
The year 2009 has been a year of bringing structure to the organisation in order for it to grow in the right direction. It is also the year in which I will return to India. In October I will leave to visit the abandoned children project in New Delhi, the same project I worked at to help and re-structure the organisation in 2007. Personal donations, and donations made by organisations and companies add up to a substantial amount of money which will be put to great use to better the lives of these children.

Besides this project I will visit a new project, this time in the vicinity of Mumbai, giving shelter and offering help to the victims of child-prostitution. During my stay in India I will, if technology allows it, regularly post pictures and write about my experiences on the website.

In the future the network will support more existing projects in need of support and also become a platform to help people with new ideas find their way through the forests of developmental organisations. In the near future we will connect to other organisations, and especially to individuals who want to make a difference. Each day the network grows, more and more people join. Step by step there will be fewer people completely on their own, together meets alone, alone meets together.
